According to L'Equipe, French Football Federation President Diallo will convene an executive committee meeting on September 10 to determine France's stance on Gianni Infantino's re-election.
Speaking at a meeting with UEFA leadership in Monaco, Diallo stated that he personally opposes Gianni Infantino continuing as FIFA president. As a member of the UEFA Executive Committee, he said he had previously spoken out actively about FIFA's plan to sell part of the World Cup broadcasting rights to private investors and had participated in related work at the UEFA level, considering the eventual withdrawal of the plan a success.
However, Diallo emphasized that the French Football Federation (FFF) would not make a public statement without first convening and consulting its Executive Committee. He stated that the FFF's official position would be determined after the next Executive Committee meeting on September 10th, at which time the association would clearly express its intentions. He also said that the current situation should be used to promote deep reforms in football governance; major decisions should no longer be learned through the media, nor should decisions be passively accepted without consultation. The FIFA presidential election is scheduled for March 18, 2027, and there is no need to rush into a statement now.
