Aston Villa captain McGinn believes that Evans' assessment of Manchester United's summer signing of Belgian midfielder Tielemans is spot on.
On The Overlap podcast "Focus on Football," McGinn said that Evans' earlier prediction that Tielemans could fill the void at Manchester United was absolutely correct.
“I’m talking about an all-around player, and… like Johnny (Evans), I saw him in the media a few weeks ago commenting on Tielemans, saying ‘he might be the piece that Manchester United has been missing.’”
"We will miss him both on and off the field. He was a top player with an extremely strong desire to win."
“I may miss many qualities in players, but his mentality in adversity is the most memorable. I have no doubt that Yuri (Tillermans) can do that at Manchester United, absolutely.”
McGinn discusses what Manchester United fans can expect from Tielemans.
Last week, Carrick started against Tielemans in Manchester United's 0-2 away defeat to Hull City at the MKM Stadium, marking Tielemans' Premier League debut for the Red Devils.
McGinn first emphasized Tielemans' importance to Aston Villa, and then praised the Manchester United midfielder's individual ability and mentality on the field.
