According to The Athletic, Julian Alvarez walked off the Atlético Madrid stadium alone with his head down, drawing boos from the home fans. This scene became the most eye-catching moment in this summer's biggest transfer saga.
On Sunday local time, Atletico Madrid drew 2-2 with Villarreal in their first La Liga home game of the new season. After the match, Diego Simeone's players walked together to the area behind the goal in the south stand to greet the fans.
Apart from Alvarez, all the other players participated in this segment. Because some fans were unhappy with his public expressions of wanting to join Barcelona, the club advised Alvarez not to participate, and he accepted the advice.
